Pind Daan in Gaya

Gaya, in the Indian state of Bihar, is one of the cities in India that is revered for its religious significance. The Phalgu or Falgu river, flowing through Gaya, is regarded as one of the holiest rivers in Hinduism. The river is considered as the embodiment of Vishnu, as stated in the Vayu Purana. Pilgrims come to the holy place to perform the Hindu religious ritual for the dearly departed known as Pind Daan.

For the living, taking a dip or bathing in the holy waters of the Phalgu is said to cleanse one of worldly sins. Pind Daan offered by the sacred waters will help the soul of the departed attain freedom from the cycle of rebirth, thereby achieving peace.

On the banks of Phalgu, there are approximately 48 platforms where Pind Daan can be performed by Brahmin pandits. The ritual can also be conducted at the Vishnu Temple on the site.

For Indians outside India. Distance and time pose a challenge since they may not be able to attend the actual ritual in any of the holy places in India as required in Hindu texts and tradition. Prtra devta come up with the solution for non-resident Indians (NRIs). Our Brahmin pandits will perform traditional Pind Daan in Gaya for you and your family even without any of you on site.
